Restaurant Details
Beautiful urban chic, casual fine dining engulfed in the warmth of stone fireplaces, flattering lighting and conversation-enhancing seating.
Former location of Krebs Family Restaurant Whitby.
Our menus — seasonally-charged — contain starters like Warm Lobster Dip; Blue Shell Crab Cakes; Pulled Pork Nachos, Mini Angus sliders and Bocconcini Impanato (lightly breaded and shallow fried unripe mozzarella in a light tomato sauce), and a dual fuel pizza oven that’ll fire up — alongside really amazing pizza combos — gourmet flatbread entrees, too.
Our “chop house” specialities prove a carnivore’s culinary Disneyland. For starters there’s an 18-ounce Porterhouse to whet one’s appetite. Then there’s the slow braised fall-off-the-bone lamb shank in Guinness jus; a grilled-to-order 8-ounce AAA Angus tenderloin veiled in a rich pancetta-onion jus; and succulent prime rib cooked-and-cut- to-order with all the traditional trimmings.
For I-Heart-Pasta aficionados, one can’t go wrong with the ocean fresh sweet-tasting Shrimp Curry Pasta or the Forest Mushroom Stuffed Ravioli or the Cajun Linguine co-mingled with spicy chicken, barely wilted spinach, grilled corn and sautéed onions in a charred tomato sauce. The jewel in The Brock House bill-of-fare crown is the restaurant’s Seafood Paella. A juxtaposition of toothsome chorizo sausage playing against a backdrop of buttery squid, Atlantic salmon and Island Blue mussels, Black Tiger shrimp, perfectly al dente long grain rice, onions, chillies, super sweet red peppers, each order panned to gastronomic Nirvana. You know this dish is a winner when the non-seafood lovers at your table can’t keep their forks out of your paella!
The “Vintage; better with age” menu was especially created for the 65+ years crowd in mind. Seasoned patrons desiring smaller portions at budget-friendly prices can rejoice in offerings the likes of fork-tender slow roasted prime rib; half racks of meaty pork baby back ribs; fish and chips kicked into sonic overdrive with a you-can-hear-the-crunch-a-mile-away beer batter and salt ‘n malt potato chip coated halibut filet; and “dancing” beer-can-roasted quarter chicken anointed in a homemade Jack Daniel’s bourbon sauce. Taste memories enough to last until one’s next visit, to be sure.
The “Tat’s” menu — plays homage to the good old days of Comfort Food. Mounded corned beef on rye and Reubens laced with sauerkraut; triple decker club sandwiches. And perennial faves... hot hamburger, turkey or roast beef, presented open-faced slathered in house made gravy and sided by creamy mash or fries and seasonal veg. As good as mom ever made, to be sure. And speaking of mom, and the no-dessert-until-you-finish-your-dinner golden rule, you’d be well challenged to order the Sheppard’s Pie. Be forewarned, dear reader, this dish is not for the faint of heart loaded as it is with ground Angus beef, smoked apple wood cheddar mash and a side bowl of pan roasted veal demi for pouring over the top.“We weighed it and it weighs two pounds.”
Join us for our new mammoth Sunday brunch! Pasta station, made-to-order egg station, create-your-own waffles, parfaits and pizza stations, a chocolate fountain with all the fixings. All this in addition to the traditional breakfast fare... bacon, sausage, home fries, salads, finger pastries, fresh fruits. Arrive hungry and wear something comfortable.
